LA POLIZIA E’ AL SERVIZIO DEL CITTADINO?

Quartet Records presents the premiere vinyl edition of Luis Bacalov’s iconic urban score for LA POLIZIA È AL SERVIZIO DEL CITTADINO?, a 1973 film
directed by Romolo Guerrieri and starring Enrico Maria Salerno.
The film is a compelling entry in the golden age of the Italian poliziottesco. Combining crime, political intrigue and social criticism, it reflects the tensions
and uncertainties that characterized Italy during the turbulent Years of Lead, offering a cynical and often unsettling portrait of corruption, violence and
institutional power.
For the film, Academy Award-winning composer Luis Bacalov created one of the most distinctive scores of his prolific career. Moving effortlessly
between hard-edged suspense, dramatic orchestral writing and contemporary rhythmic textures, Bacalov captures both the urban brutality and
underlying melancholy of the story. The score displays the composer’s remarkable versatility, blending memorable thematic material with the modern
sounds that defined much of 1970s Italian genre cinema.

This release presents the complete score newly restored from the original master tapes and mastered by Chris Malone and pressed on 140-gram
